A small powerpoint going over the recent rough cuts we made as a group and how my blog is, in strengths and weaknesses. We also go over our target audience and why it is so. For example male / female gaze (in powerpoint). We also go over our audience feedback received throughout our early filming stages.
I wouldn't quite agree with your short blog summary! SOME good presentation, SOME good organisation, but simply needs to be consistent.
ReplyDeleteImportant you don't misunderstand male gaze theory (all 3 of you). Mulvey wasn't arguing its a way of getting more viewers. She was critical of the way the industry privileged the male visual pleasure by (a) objectifying women and (b) relegating women to secondary roles. Carole Clover, also a feminist, argued this was a little imbalanced as the horror genre features the final girl, putting a non-glamourised female as the central protagonist; resourceful and tough, intellectual not reliant on looks/boys.
